Yup, the short story This Hunted World, which was original to Skinless Man Counts to 5, was listed as Recommended Reading in Best Horror of the Year, volume 17, edited by the Queen of Horror herself, Ellen Datlow!

A wonderful surprise, and for one of my favorite short stories. It was nice adding some originals to the collection (This Hunted World, A Gift of Teeth, and Fake Plastic Trees), and even nicer when one ends up on the recommended reading for Best Horror of the Year!

A lot of the short stories in this collection ended up on recommended reading lists over the last few decades.
