Return of the Apology

With losing the old website and the old domain name, I also lost the apology I issued awhile back.  Since Jeff Vandermeer has issued an apology meme for the week, I thought I’d reiterate it for the new website.

Basically, awhile ago I was posting a lot on a certain magazine’s website (*cough fantasy magazine cough*) and I was acting like a complete troll.  While, I do believe in the ideas behind what I was saying, the way I was saying it was calculated to create a reaction.  Mostly a reaction of shock- something to shake people up and get them to respond to me.  I was acting like a troll to get attention.

And I’m sorry. Really, I could’ve said things much better than I did, but I was calculating a sort of web persona that was supposed to be something like a nihilistic anarchistic intellectual with a fuck you attitude.  This was a grave mistake on my behalf- mostly because this is something I’m getting a bit too old to do.  There is passion for something, and then there is acting like an ass and masquerading it as passion.

So, I’ve put that man aside.  He wasn’t real to being with, anyway.  In real life I’m a very mellow person.
