Green Punk

Matt Staggs started something pretty cool the other day- he set up a website and released a Green Punk manifesto.  What is Green Punk?  It’s science fiction about positive change.  It’s hope fiction, science fiction in a future of global warming and eco terror, but it’s not post-apocalyptic or negative utopian or utopian. It’s about people living and loving and surving in a post-scarcity world, in a post consumerism culture.  It’s about fixing the future instead of warning about how broken it will be.

And I love it.  Plan to see a short story or two about it from me in the near future.

Check it out at greenpunk.net.

Matt’s Greenpunk Manifesto is the latest expression of the growing Greenpunk movement. Look for our Facebook page and take a look at the first Greenpunk short story: “It’s Not Easy Being Green” (www.ontheblob.net/beinggreen.html).
