First, I realized now that my wording of the last point made some people think that Valente’s post was a direct response to mine. It’s not, it just made a really good counter argument to what I was saying, but had no straightforward connection to it. Anyway.
After talking to a lot of other writers, I will now admit that I’m wrong about the whole Prime books thing. There is a difference between what I thought was happening and what was actually happening. There are a lot of writers like me, who have no problem with Prime. There are far more writers (far, far more) that have had Cisco’s experience, and ones hella worse than that.
I’m still not 100% sure if his blog was the place for it. But things, I guess, need to be said and made public. And a blog is a good place as any. Other things we definately need transparency for. I’m not going to mention them here, but look around at the comments on some of the blogs, and you’ll know right away what I’m talking about.
